PACA's New Invoicing System
Over the past six months, behind the scenes, PACA has been transitioning to a new AMS or Association Management System. The AMS drives our database of membership, mailing lists, email lists, online registrations and invoicing and payment systems.

The new product, known as Atlas, will provide tremendous benefits to both PACA staff internally, but our members and prospects as well (more on this later).

Right now, we need to announce the new emails that PACA official representatives, billing contacts and meeting registrants will receive when a payment is due to PACA. In the days of hacking, spamming, email viruses, etc., it's important to show an example of what this new email will look like so that all now the email is legitimate and links can be clicked on to pay invoices.

When an invoice is open and ready for payment, the proper contact will receive an email with the following wording (or similar wording):

Invoice for (YOUR NAME or COMPANY NAME)

This email is to notify you of a balance on your account. To view the details for this invoice, please click the link below.

HERE YOU WILL SEE A LINK THAT SAYS - Open Invoices

All outstanding invoices for you/your organization will be displayed. You can click "View" next to any invoice to download a printable view of the invoice, and you can check the "Select Item to Pay" checkbox to enter your credit card information and submit payment online.

If you have any questions please reply to this email.

HERE YOU WILL SEE A LINK THAT SAYS - View Invoice(s) (this allows you to download a .pdf, printable copy of the invoice.)

Thank you!

EPA & PACA MOU for Concrete Industry
At PACA's fall 2019 Environmental Community meeting, we had Region III Administrator Cosmo Servidio join us. One of the items he spoke about was EPA’s Smart Sector program. EPA’s Smart Sector Program is a way for EPA to collaborate with regulated industry sectors and develop sensible, non-regulatory approaches to better protect the environment and enhance opportunities for open dialogue. Some of the industry sectors that have already participated in this include mining, cement, iron and steel.

On October 8, with the approval of the PACA Board of Directors, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with EPA to participate in the Smart Sector program for the concrete industry. Rod Martin of Martin Stone Quarries who is the Chair of the PACA Board of Directors, along with EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler signed the MOU at Bryan Materials Group’s Southside facility. This was impressive to EPA because the plant was built in 1883 and it’s a multi-generational company. EPA Administrators and their staff also received a brief overview and tour of the facility.

Several companies and PACA originally met with EPA in January 2020 regarding this program and we will continue those discussions as next steps in support of this MOU, and to better the overall concrete industry in Pennsylvania.

We want to give a special thanks to Tom Bryan of Bryan Materials and his crew for an outstanding setup for the signing to happen, particularly in light of the numerous delays during the day due to the Administrator’s schedule.

Should you have any questions or comments, contact Josie Gaskey.
