Tell Us What You Think of the New PACA Website
Have you seen the new PACA website? If not, please check it out!

The intent of this new website is to be an evolving product with more updates and added information on a much more consistent basis, rather than the static site of before.

And, bear in mind, this is just Phase I of the project. There are some exciting additions coming to Phase II, but much more behind-the-scenes work needs to be done before the launch of Phase II.

For now, we'd like to hear your feedback on the new site and give us some suggestions of what you'd like to see on the new site. Take a few minutes to please complete are VERY short survey.

Status of PACA's 2020 Summer Summit, Golf Outing & Sporting Clays Tournament Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic
Hope all are safe, practicing social distancing and staying healthy!

To help KEEP everyone safe and healthy, it is with much regret that we must announce that we, with the approval of our Executive Committee, have made the decision to cancel the 2020 Summer Summit, Golf Outing and Sporting Clays tournament.

With the unpredictability of the time/length of the COVID-19 pandemic, the status of stay-at-home orders, social distancing, etc., we felt it best to make this tough decision sooner rather than later.

We are deeply saddened that we will not have the opportunity to bring friends, family, colleagues and peers together this Summer, but we look forward to seeing all next year.

We still have our Annual Meeting in November to look forward to and hope that all will be back to "normal" at that time.

In the meantime, we ask that you please add the following future dates of the Summer Summit to your calendar - along with the other future dates - and hopefully, we will all be back together, face-to-face very soon!

Be well!

If you have any questions, please contact Kallie Kline.

If you have already made your room reservations at the Hyatt, please call 1-800-233-1234 to cancel.

DEP Emergency Temporary Waiver to Suspend Regulatory Requirements and/or Permit Conditions
DEP has posted an alert indicating a COVID-19 Emergency Request to Temporarily Suspend Regulatory Requirements and/or Permit Conditions. The form can be found on the alert page.

This form will work its way through several internal DEP technical and legal reviews and recommendations before going to the Governor's Office for final approval. It is anticipated that if the request comes to the Governor’s Office with a DEP approval, the Governor will most likely approve.

Note that DEP Mining has indicated it will not be approving any waiver for mine sites that are actively working in some capacity.

Should you have any questions or challenges, please don’t hesitate to contact Josie Gaskey.

MSHA Posts COVID-19 Guidance
MSHA has posted COVID-19 Guidance on their website. They are following the CDC guidelines regarding physical distancing, washing hands, etc. MSHA employees are being asked to quarantine at home, if they've been exposed or possibly exposed or have symptoms.

They have suspended Educational Field visits, as well as Small Mine Services visit. On-site special initiative talks have also been suspended.

If you have a production reduction at your site, you should notify MSHA, as they have indicated a willingness to limit the number of inspectors they send, provided they are aware of this ahead of time.

Underground mine inspections continue as normal.

Should you have any challenges, contact Josie Gaskey.
