PACA has made a shift in their approach to providing safety information for our members. This year, we are implementing a pilot conference with a high-level focus on research and partnering with NIOSH. The conference will be held March 18-19 at the Doubletree Greentree Pittsburgh and at the NIOSH complex on Cochrane Road, Pittsburgh.
The conference begins at 1 p.m. on March 18 at the DoubleTree. It will be followed by a small reception early evening. Dinner is on your own as there are plenty of choices within 10 miles of the hotel. The next morning, March 19, will begin by meeting in the lobby at 7 a.m. for a bus trip to the NIOSH complex.
We have made arrangements with the Doubletree for you to leave your vehicle at the hotel, as you must take the bus to NIOSH due to federal research security check procedures. You must also bring your license. Once both the attendees and the bus go through security, NIOSH takes over. They will be showcasing the latest research projects on which they are working, while giving you a hands-on tour of the appropriate research areas of the complex. The bus will leave NIOSH at noon to return to the hotel.
